Frank E. Schoonover moved into studio # 1 on March 8th. 1906, and would paint and teach here until his death in 1972. During that time he executed over twenty two hundred of his over twenty five hundred works. Today the studios serve as a memorial to his remarkable career, complete with many of his paintings and drawings, ephemera, illustrated books, and memorabilia.
His grandson John serves as president and curator, as well as broker for illustrations by Schoonover and many of the other Pyle students. Both studios #1 and the adjacent Rodney Street Gallery are open daily, 9 am to 5 pm, and by appointment on Saturdays.
