Beard, Alice (1867-1949) PDF Print E-mail
Alice Beard was born in Cincinnati. From 1906 to 1910, she was a student of Howard Pyle in Wilmington. She also studied in New York and Boston.

Beard collaborated with Frances Rogers, another Pyle illustration student, on nine books. They were joint authors and illustrators. However, according to a letter of Frances Rogers, Beard considered herself more a painter than an illustrator. In 1925, she received a prize from the National Art Club of New York.
